Job Description:
Lumenance is searching for motivated Electrical Systems Architectural Design and Test Engineers with prior vehicle:application product development experience in the automotive industry. We have US:based contract positions available for the candidate who has a full understanding of automotive electrical and electronic sub:systems, physical and electronic layers and communication protocol requirements. This candidate will create conceptual electrical architecture design models for review, validate component compatibility, identify system specific performance requirements, suggest vehicle system partitioning and interact with other team members to develop full system schematic layout. The candidate must also be able to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues on actual vehicles and work to resolve them. The candidate must be capable of contributing to a fast paced, project development environment in the transportation design and manufacturing industry.
These positions are in Northwestern Pennsylvania, USA. Lumenance will help procure the necessary U.S. work visas for qualified candidates from Mexico and Canada.
Duties And Requirements
1. Technical
Thorough understanding of in:vehicle sub:systems such as Jxxxx CAN, LIN, and other communication protocols.
Ability to understand and create electrical system schematics and data sheets.
Work with OEM customer to develop high level feature and function requirements.
Identify and document in a system diagram, all of the associated hardware components, interfaces and communication technologies for design.
Develop software architecture diagrams as needed to define overall system function.
Design and layout detail of device PCB when/if warranted.
Troubleshoot electrical/harness vehicle issues using a systematic approach and work to resolve issues on vehicles.
Communicate and perform presentation of concepts to customer as needed or required.
Prior experience with documentation and specific definition of system specifications.
Prior electrical hardware engineering experience beneficial.
Able to review and understand device and component datasheets.
Create all necessary reports, presentations and technical documents needed to explain and/or provide a record of the development process and activities
Participate in design reviews : includes development of presentation and report materials required to effectively communicate any technical and/or project related concepts
2. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering focused on Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field of study.
The candidate must have at least 3 years of experience designing vehicle or automotive electrical systems with a background of understanding in designing wire harnesses and their components.
Knowledge of Teamcenter engineering software is a plus.
The candidate must have 3+ years experience with a CAD software for design of vehicle systems and harnesses (CATIA, Pro:Engineer, SolidWorks, Zuken, Mentor Graphics, etc)
